With the unfortunate news of U2 s Bono going under emergency back surgery and postponement of their U.S. tour dates, problems have been created for some of their opening acts, one of them being [lastfm]Interpol[/lastfm].
[lastfm]Interpol[/lastfm] are Weenie Roast veterans. They ve played Weenie Roast 2003, 2005, and even headlined 2007. On top of losing one band member (click here for the story), they now have announced some show cancellations due to not being able to open for U2.
Ummmm not to school you guys, but they headlines the 2007 Weenie Roast? If you mean they played an abbreviated (sp?) set after QOTSA killed it, only to have Brandon Mile of Incubus as suprise guest follow (then sets from Social D, Korn and Linkin Park) is a headline set well spank my ass and call me Jewel. Don t get me wrong, I love Interpol, san carlos hotel new york but the bands 2007 set at the KROQ Weenie Roast was not one of their finer moments.
san carlos hotel new york Don t know much about the ins and outs of arranging tour dates, but is interpol broke or something. Seems kind of odd that a well known act is touring san carlos hotel new york on the condition that they have to open for U2 or it s not worth it. I can t believe that Interpol has to have the backing of U2 to tour, come on.
