@James, They do have to be public, though you could create an account specifically for this purpose

Back in December, I shared how to earn United miles by sharing your location on Foursquare .  While the United partnership has ended, you can still earn a few other points here and there by checking in at certain hotels and airports using Foursquare (or Facebook Places, Twitter Location, or even Instagram if you prefer).
The premise is simple: you use your smartphone to check in at the hotels you re visiting anyway.  You don t need to be an overnight guest, so if you re at a hotel just for a drink at the bar or a day at the spa, you can still take advantage of this.  You ll get 25-50 points per check-in (once per day per location), which is enough to reset the clock on your expiration date and a little extra to get you closer to that next award.  It s a win-win situation since you re basically promoting a specific location on your social media networks as free advertising for these locations.
To get started is easy.  You ll need to sign up at Topguest  and then link your frequent flyer/hotel rewards account numbers to your choice of your Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts.  Even if you have no intention of ever checking in at a certain location, you should still do this step because you ll get a few points just for registering .
Additionally, you ll get double points for check-ins with Virgin America through August 12 and one lucky person who checks in will be instantly upgraded to silver status each day during the promotion.  You don t actually have to be ticketed with Virgin as long as you are at one of the airports they fly at, so give it a shot this week!
These check-ins are only worth about 25 cents each, depending on program, but it is an easy way to extend the life of your points and a quick way to supplement your points balance.  I m a little sad that many programs have withdrawn their participation, but I ll enjoy the remaining ones while I can.
I ve been checking in to PC every weekday since February in my town, and a few other cities mixed in over weekends here and there; and have had my wife doing the same since May/June or so. I ve already earned enough forva free night, and combining my wife s points later will earn us a very cheap points + $ stay in Seattle in November. Very easy for 3 seconds a day!
I ve checked easy car rental in germany in to my nearby Doubletree and Holiday Inn daily since I learned about this offer. Occasionally the Priority Club points easy car rental in germany don t post but I ve noticed that if I wait roughly 24 hours between check-ins it seems to perform better.
easy car rental in germany @James, They do have to be public, though you could create easy car rental in germany an account specifically for this purpose (as I have done). Anecdotally, I ve been getting VX credit checking in from 2,500 miles away foursquare doesn t give me points but topguest does. I ll ride the gravy train (such as it is) as long as it lasts!
Anyone has any idea whatever happened to the Hilton check-ins? They just stopped posting in April, and even though easy car rental in germany a lot of people say that DT still continues to work for them, it just doesn t for me. I do get the confirmation email that I have earned the points, but the points never post to the account. Lots of people reported this issue. Seems like a software glitch with some accounts. PC points post just fine for me every day. Any insights? Thanks.
No, I understand. Hampton Inns used to work but they no longer do. I understand it s only DT s, and I just did a check-in, and sure enough, as usual, I get the auto email saying I have earned 50 HH points. The only problem is that those points are never making it to my HH account. Topguest works fine, but the transfer to HH is what isn t working. Was wondering if someone knew if this is a software issue or not, but not the end of the world. It s only 50 points. Still doing it for PC without any problems. Thanks though.
easy car rental in germany I'm just a girl in her 20s with a huge case of wanderlust. I want to see the world - and I need a little help from discounts and promotions to make it happen! This is my quest to earn free travel in a realistic way. I'll grab the easy airline miles and hotel points for award redemptions, and look for ways to save money while paying for the rest. I'm ready to get out and explore, and am looking forward to all the adventures waiting for me! It might be softcore miles, but it's definitely hardcore travel.
