Last June was no exception, and even though we spent almost a month in Portugal, spare time was a luxury since we were still working our remote job every day from 9 to 5 (it s location-independent, but it s still work, right?) and being based 40 km north of Lisbon without a car certainly didn t help.
This time I didn t want to miss Santo Antonio s feast , so I got organized in advance, plus, I wanted to make sure to spend a couple of days as a tourist walking with my camera, and I took a few days off work without hesitation. Thanks to a couple of friends (including Cleelia at Lisbon Dreams Guesthouse ) who provided quality accommodation right into Lisbon downtown, I was able to accomplish both missions .
Some of my favourite thrifty rent a car canada things to do in Lisbon include wandering the streets of Alfama and other traditional neighbourhoods, enjoying the views from one of the many miradouros (terraces with scenic views), taking the electricos (Trams), thrifty rent a car canada enjoying the Bairro Alto s nightlife, and of course eating in tascas (typical half-restaurants, half-cafés serving local specialities).
