88% of Brits want to see more of Europe, yet 20% will only visit one European miami south beach seasonal vacation rentals country in their lifetime and 25% haven t ventured into Europe in the last five years, according to a recent survey carried out amongst over 2,000 people on behalf of escorted coach tour operator, Leger Holidays .
The average Brit has visited 7 out of the 41 European countries but it seems our geography is poor, especially amongst the under-45s - 40% of those interviewed thought that Russia is not a European country, 31% thought that Iceland was not in Europe and 10% didn t know that the Berlin Wall is in Germany.
The survey showed that the most common barriers that prevent people from exploring Europe are cost, the thought of over-complicated journeys and not being able to speak the local language (49% could not speak any foreign language).
