Police said a victim responded to an ad on Craigslist to buy six or seven tickets valued at $87 each for $55 each, said Sgt. Mike Austin of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Carson station. After meeting up with the man at a Carson shopping center, the party was rejected at the Disneyland gate because tickets with the same barcode had already been used.
Sgt. Allan Roman of Anaheim Police Department said officers sometimes are called to investigate such fraudulent tickets, when visitors are rejected at the gate, but he had no estimate of the frequency.
