Hi! I'm Angelina. I've actually been inspired to start blogging merely as a way to contain my uncont

It looks like Club Carlson has graced us with yet a fourth stay one, get one promotion this time with Park Plaza Hotels Resorts. Registration is limited to the first 20,000 registrants, and if you complete a stay during the promotional period (June 28, 2012 and August 28, 2012), you ll receive an additional 50,000 bonus points! I m thrilled that Club Carlson is going all out with these promotions!
While there is only one Park Plaza hotel in North America (in Minneapolis, MN), this promotion americanwestairlines might be useful if you re traveling to some parts of Asia or Europe during the promotional period because that s where the bulk of the Park Plaza hotels seem to be. Kevin and I had a lovely americanwestairlines stay at the Park Plaza Bangkok Soi 18 back in April, and rates seem to be in the $50 range. For those readers who live in the Minneapolis area, you all lucked out, and I m jealous. Take a look at the map of Park Plaza hotel locations below:
Oh wow! That was FAST? I registered at the time of this blog post and got this message: THANK YOU for registering for the Park Plaza® Ultimate Night Giveaway. You are receiving this email to confirm that you have successfully registered and are eligible to earn 50,000 bonus Gold Points®.
@Angelina do you know of anyone who registered during the glitch period and was only eligible for the 15,000 points, but should have been eligible for the 50,000 and got it corrected? I live in Minneapolis, so I intend to take advantage of this promotion, but I feel I got stuck with the 15,000 promo despite the current registration showing one can still register for the 50,000. Thanks!
@daniel I had the same problem. Registered less than one hour from when it went love and got a message that the first 20k had registered and it was now 15K. Tried to re-register once the glitch worked out, but it said I had already registered. My email confirmation shows just 15k even though the promotion is still showing the 50k offer available americanwestairlines as of today. Called the next day and filed an issue with Club Carlson. They said they would get back to me Monday or Tuesday of this week. I know this happened to @mommypoints as well. Any word from anyone else? I ll update when I hear from them.
@MSPTraveler thanks for the response. I emailed them right away last week and have yet to hear back. Once I hear back, I ll update the post. We finally have a promo that benefits where we live, and I guess we jumped the gun so to speak!
@Daniel thanks to you as well. And thanks to Angelina for posting about this offer and the other Carlson promos. Because of her efforts and those of Mommy Points americanwestairlines and others, my wife and I will rack up about 400,000 Club Carlson points. americanwestairlines We ve already done a stay each at the Radisson Plaza MSP. We were in Berlin for the first week of June and were lucky to get two stays at Park Inns. This week we are each doing a stay at a Country Inn (Shakopee, americanwestairlines MN and Northfield, MN). Then, once this Park Plaza thing gets straightened out, we will do two nights at the Park Plaza MSP. Close to 400K Club Carlson points for under $700 out of pocket is incredible.
I heard back from the Club Carlson rep today that both my wife and I will receive 50K after completing a Park Plaza stay even though our confirmation emails only stated 15K. He didn't explain the glitch, just said that if the 50K points don't post correctly to contact him and they would fix it.
@MSPTraveler did they call you back, as you said earlier you called them and left a message, or did they respond to you via email and do you have documentation of this? If you have a contact name, that would be most helpful. Thanks/Daniel
americanwestairlines @Daniel I spoke with Shane at Club Carlson. We talked americanwestairlines initially by phone, but he had me email him the confirmation email. I followed up with an email on Monday and he emailed back to say that I should get the 50K bonus and to let him know if there was any problem with it posting. @mommypoints also indicated that she heard back indicating that she would get the 50K bonus. I m not sure if she heard from them via email or phone.
@MSPTraveler Thanks for keeping me updated. americanwestairlines How is the property, or was it just a mattress run? Did you get upgraded? I did a status match with them and am now a Gold Elite, and I ve been upgraded for both of the nights I ve spent for the promos.
@Daniel and @mommypoints We stayed there Saturday night and the points posted correctly today (Tuesday). Reserved a standard room at 5K points plus $65. Received something like 1200 base points americanwestairlines for room rate, 600 points for Gold 50% points bonus, 2000 online booking bonus (Gold Level), and 50000 points for the promotion. The property was ok in and of itself. They could use some capital improvements for sure. The staff, however, was wonderful. My 7 year old wanted to do something special for our anniversary so he offered to take us to a hotel (and pay with his own money) to spend the night. I emailed the hotel manager in advance americanwestairlines to let him know this and to ask about his assistance in getting americanwestairlines a nice room and some flowers and champagne delivered. He upgraded us to a two room suite, sent up a bottle of champagne on the house, and had a local florist get in touch with me to arrange for flowers, which they had set up in the room when we got there. They also had a plate of cookies waiting for us. Not on the order of those delicious, warm, crack-like Doubletree cookies, but still a wonderful touch.
One more thing, which of course depends a lot on your neighbors, but our room was extremely quiet. The first section of the two room suite is where the room opens to the hall, so the bedroom area is very far from the door. A quiet night s sleep is a very significant thing for me, and this was about as good as it gets in that respect.
I met the Director of Sales at the New Radisson americanwestairlines Blu at a golf tournament in St. Paul on Monday, and I forwarded my email to her that I sent to the Gold Points Desk as I hadn t heard if I was officially registered for the 50,000 points. americanwestairlines She said she would take care of it. I got a follow up email from her on Tuesday, and then I got this email yesterday:
I should net a similar amount to you when all said and done and a total of 144,000 americanwestairlines points from the 3 properties I was able to make this summer. Next go around I will have to set my wife up with an account, smart strategy on your part!
Hi! I'm Angelina. I've actually been inspired to start blogging merely as a way to contain my uncontainable excitement about all things points and miles. americanwestairlines By occupation I am a full time TV/Film actor, and by hobby (or in this case, life) I am an avid traveler and bargainista. Combine the two and you get a points americanwestairlines & miles fanatic who takes too many vacations. I rely (heavily) upon opportunities that allow me to travel for sometimes close to nada. I look forward to sharing with you! :)
