I can't believe what I am reading. How is daytona anymore boring than freaking michigan or california or kansas, texas, las vegas I could go on and on. Its not plate racing that is killing the sport. Maybe the last 10 laps are only exciting but here lately its the best 10 laps in the sport. Don't you guys understand that if you take the plates off its the worst race ever to watch? Perfect! Finally someone other than me understands...They took Wilkesboro, The Rock, 1 Darlington race, and turned Atlanta from a great configuaration into a cookie cutter of Charlotte. They built new tracks based off how many people they could pack in and bam you get a watered down boring schedule and no one within nascar wants to blame anything but the economy. Plus the cars are too easy to drive making every race even more boring. No one says my tires are gone anymore or the handles gone. Im sorry but the upper tier of stock car racing SHOULD have cars that are hard to drive.
Went to Ky race and then To Daytona race last weekend. Ticket price at Ky $120 for the cup cars and at Daytona $158 for cup cars and these are not the most expensive tickets you can get.. In todays economy its hard for a family to offord those prices. Ky was sold-out 101,000 but Daytona was maybe 3/4 full. Then you get inside the tracks and they bend u over and stick it to u on the concession prices, A beer and cheeseburger going to set you back about $15 now say you and your wife and 2 kids are getting a drink and a sandwich yer gonna drop a quick $30 or $40 each trip to the concession stand. Then to buy a souveneer shirt thats another $30 per shirt. Maybe NASCAR ought to look at lowering the prices and making it more affordable to familys in todays economy and maybe sells will increase. If not look for more decline in ticket sells.
