On Monday, September 10 I will be attending a media roundtable and ribbon cutting at the SpringHill Suites Latrobe in Latrobe, Pa. Be sure to watch for coverage on the Green Lodging News website and in the weekly e-mail newsletter. What is unique about the SpringHill Suites Latrobe? It is a joint venture of Palmer Hospitality, L.P., owned by golfing legend Arnold Palmer, Concord Hospitality Enterprises, and Keith H. McGraw, a Sewickley, Pa.-based Concord partner. The four-story, 109-suite hotel is located close to Latrobe Country Club, Palmer's home course. The hotel is a LEED-certified prototype pioneered by Concord Hospitality drury inn san antonio texas Enterprises drury inn san antonio texas in conjunction with Marriott International. My goal during my Monday visit will be to learn what exactly is different about the SpringHill Suites Latrobe from a green building perspective. The SpringHill Suites Latrobe is Marriott's drury inn san antonio texas first SpringHill Suites to be built as part of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Volume Program.
Marriott currently has four other brands with green prototypes as part of the LEED Volume Program: Courtyard, Fairfield Inn Suites, Residence Inn, and TownePlace Suites.
