The cabin is tucked in a quiet & peaceful "On Golden Pond like setting." However, southern maine has many very busy popular tourist sites. Southern Maine's beautiful coastline runs north and south of your cozy cabin. Take route 35 and head 10 miles south and find yourself in downtown Kennebunk. From here you could head south and connect with Route 1 and visit Wells, Ogunquit, Kittery and York, Maine.-OR- Take Route 35 a little bit further and you will be in the heart of World Famous Kennebunkport. All of these towns are considered the best of Southern Maine, known for the best Seafood Restaurants and a unique shopping village. Not to mention the beaches are simply breathtaking. We do not charge a CLEANING FEE, however we like to give you the opportunity to save the $100 and just leave the cabin as clean as you find it upon arrival. A walk thru will be scheduled before check-out, at this time we would like to fully return your security deposit, advantage rent car if neccessary we will take a deduction from security deposit for professional cleaners to be sure that we get the cabin ready in time for the next renters.
My friend and I had the best time. This cabin was clean and decorated really nice. We fished all day and it is so peaceful and quiet. I would plan on returning to this place any time I need to get away. The owners are kind and respectful of your privacy.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was down to earth, warm and inviting advantage rent car with quilts and candles and an old fashion wood burning stove that kept the cabin warm. I loved the atmosphere. It had a gorgeous view of a beautiful, spring fed pond. It was an enjoyable and memorable trip for our my mom's 80th birthday. Children advantage rent car would really love it because of the fishing, canoeing, etc that was available to guests. The location was also great. We went from the mountains to the Atlantic, from Portland to Ogunquit in short day trips. Lastly, and I could go on for a while, the owners were so kind and helpful. We enjoyed seeing them and even their dog who visited us every day. Everything was truly wonderful and I hope that I can return to this rental again.
I rented this place for my parents as a wedding gift. They enjoyed the place so much. Words such as 'beatiful', 'well decorated', 'peaceful', 'everything was there', 'owners were so nice' was all I heard when they returned. Thank you for making our gift special to them!
We had an absolutely great time! Could not have asked for nicer people to rent from. Dean & Michelle went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted! We Just got back from Barker's Pond. We had an amazing time. This was our 6th trip to Maine, but our first trip to this area. Lots of canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and napping. Went with my family of 4 and golden retriever. advantage rent car Don't know who had more fun the kids or the dog! Something for everyone, and not far from the ocean beaches, great restaurants and shops on the coast. Photos are very accurate on the website. Really beautiful cabin, with all the comforts of home. Everything was so homey and cozy. Slept great at night with all the Maine fresh air. I highly recommend this vacation to anyone looking to kick back and relax and reconnect with family and/or friends. Michelle and Dean were great hosts, we will be back!
This cabin was in a great location, everything from shopping to the ocean was just a short drive away yet you felt miles away in the mountains! The deck overlooking the pond was a great place to have you coffee in the morning and just take in the quiet. Best of all we were able to bring Trooper, our bullmastiff, and he had a great time as well!
The host provided a great place to stay. They went the xtra mile to provide everything we needed. There's plenty to do around the area or you can simply veg around the cabin and lake. Going back next year.
I stayed for part of one week with friends and enjoyed the vacation very much. we BBQed outside each night and enjoyed using the small fire pit for a mini 'campfire' at night. the cabin was rustic but was equipped with linens, pillows, lots of kitchen items, towels, and homey touches. the neighbor advantage rent car pets were especially entertaining. a great getaway!
What a great spot! Right on the pond, with private deck, private dock, boats to use. Even caught some fish! We had a wonderful time and can't thank our hosts, Michelle & Dean enough. They are wonderful people....The cabin was clean, and we felt very "at home" there. Thanks for a great time!
A great vacation! Dean and Michelle Shields advantage rent car host one of the finest get-a-way cabins in all of Maine. It was rustic and quaint and yet had all the amenities you could possibly want and more!
